BEYOND COAL BLITZ + BBQ + KICKBALL
On SATURAY, SEPTEMBER 24, Angelenos will take to streets to let Los Angeles know: we have a coal problem.
The LADWP (Dept. of Water & Power) gets nearly 40% of its electricity from two dirty out-of-state coal plants in Arizona and Utah. Besides the mercury and climate-disrupting pollution that make these plants two of the worst polluters in the country, they are eating up our dollars that could be invested in local clean energy like rooftop solar here in Los Angeles.
